Advanced Roadcraft 2 – Mackay

May 31 @ 8:00 am - 3:00 pm AEST

$150.00 – $225.00

More Skill. More Confidence. More Roadcraft.

You love riding – the freedom, the flow, the focus. But deep down, you know that staying safe and sharp on two wheels takes more than passion. It takes skill, and a commitment to getting better every time you ride.

Because the truth is: riding doesn’t get easier. You get better. And better means safer, smoother, and more confident in every situation, not just the easy ones.

Better means knowing exactly what to do when the road doesn’t go to plan.

💥 A tight mountain bend that comes out of nowhere
💥 A distracted driver swerving into your lane
💥 A sudden stop with no time to think
💥 Riding with a pillion and your balance feels completely off

Moments like these don’t wait for perfect conditions. They demand instant reactions, being calm under pressure, and instinctive control — all this is built on real-world practice.

This is where roadcraft becomes instinct.

THE COURSE

This full-day course is designed for riders who want to level up. You’ll be coached in a supportive, structured environment that challenges you in all the right ways — building muscle memory, sharpening reactions, and refining your skills until they feel second nature.

You’ll train on real roads, with expert instructors by your side. That means real scenarios, real feedback, and real growth.

Here’s what you’ll master:

✅ Advanced emergency braking – stop faster, straighter, and with more control
✅ Cornering confidence – read the road, pick your line, and flow through every turn
✅ Obstacle avoidance – react instinctively and stay upright when the unexpected happens
✅ Riding with a pillion – if you ride with a pillion we’ll coach you on how to handle the extra weight and shifting balance with ease
✅ Slow speed precision – nail U-turns, slow and technical manoeuvres smoothly and confidently

It’s a perfect next step if you’ve:

  • completed one of our other courses, or
  • have many years of riding and want to lift your riding skills – sometimes we just need that validation that we’re doing things right too!

WHAT DOES IT COST?

This single day course would normally cost you $395 – but thanks to government grant funding you can attend for just $150.

But we want to let you know… this course is the second part of a two-day comprehensive Roadcraft program.

Each day of the program is carefully designed to stand alone, and you’ll gain substantial value from attending either day independently with no requirement to commit to both.

HOWEVER, completing both days will give you the most comprehensive learning experience possible.

Register now for the Complete Weekend Program and attend both days for just $225 – that’s a 50% discount on your second day. Just select “Complete Weekend Program” in the ticketing options below.

We can only offer this exclusive 2-day program in some selected regional centres, and we don’t know when we will return to Mackay again.

More information about the first part of the program is here.

And did you know that PayPal Logo “Pay in 4” is now available for all our courses!

IS THIS FOR YOU?

If you’re a confident rider who knows there’s always more to learn — yes, this is for you.

Whether you ride solo or with a passenger, this course gives you the tools to ride smarter, safer, and with more confidence than ever.

Don’t wait for a near miss to realise your skills could be sharper.

Step up. Ride better. Keep it UP-RIGHT.

About SMART Rider Academy

SMART Rider Academy is a privately owned Australian company established to provide cost-effective training to motorcycle riders that improves their essential roadcraft skills and enjoyment of riding.

With funding support from Queensland Transport and Main Roads, SMART Rider Academy was the first organisation in the private sector to offer subsidised training to the motorcycle community in Queensland and is now the largest provider of post-licence road-based training in the state.

In 2017 SMART Rider Academy partnered with Queensland Police Service to create and deliver the “How to keep it UP-RIGHT” program. This program has now been delivered to over 1,400 riders in South East Queensland and is the model for the new “Ride to Zero” program being offered to clubs and not-for-profit organisations throughout Queensland.

Stephen McDowall, Director and Principal Coach, leads a training team that has worked extensively with motorcycle clubs, road safety and advisory groups and other organisations across Australia and internationally for over 20 years.
